EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 17, 2013) – The Rend Lake College Lady Warrior golf team finished 10th this week out of 13 at the two-day Screaming Eagle Golf Classic at Cambridge Golf Course in Evansville, Ind. Sept. 15 and 16.
The golfers held 10th place through both days and ended the tournament with a 676 (335-341).
The University of Indianapolis placed first with a team score of 608 (300-308) and the tournament host, Southern Indiana University, placed second at 619 (312-307).
The Lady Warriors were led by freshman Kaylyn Fuhrhop (Okawville) who finished with a 162 (80-82), closely followed by fellow freshman Ashley Sexton (Anderson, Ind.) at 163 (82-81).
The five-player team was rounded off by freshman Madison Burgett (Charleston) with a 174 (86-88), freshman Emily Thomas (Moline) with a 177 (87-90), and sophomore Kylee Henager with a 184 (93-91).
As an individual, freshman Katie Garver (Campbell Hill) finished the tournament with a score of 180 (93-87).
Other local teams participating in the tournament were Lindenwood University, who placed seventh with a score of 646 (328-318), and John A Logan College, who placed eighth with a score of 649 (323-326). For the full results of the tournament, click here.
The Lady Warriors will play Thursday at the Rend Lake College Foundation Golf Tournament at the Rend Lake Golf Course in Whittington. They will end their season with the Kaskaskia Fall Invitational at Greenview Golf Course in Centralia on Sept. 27 and at the Ashford Tournament at Short Hills Golf Course in East Moline on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
