Walk-in registration now through Aug. 16 at RLC

INA, Ill. (Aug. 7, 2014) – The fall semester is right around the corner at Rend Lake College, and students still have time to register before classes start Monday, Aug. 18. Those wanting to enroll can take advantage of the college’s walk-in period going on now through Aug. 16 at the Academic Advisement Center, located in the Administration Building.

Academic and financial aid advisors will be on hand next week from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Aug. 11-14; 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15; and noon - 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16, for those who wish to register. No appointment is needed, though students should arrive on campus no later than 5 p.m. to ensure ample time to complete the registration and financial aid processes.

Payment is due at the time of enrollment, said Lisa Price, Vice President of Student Services, so students should come prepared. Those who do not have financial aid will need to self-pay that day or sign up for the FACTS Payment Plan in the Business Office to ensure they remain enrolled.

“I would suggest anyone coming in to register needs to complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the FAFSA, before seeing an Academic Advisor,” said Price. “That application takes several days to process, so students intending on enrolling this fall semester need to do the application as soon as possible. We have several qualified financial aid specialists on campus who can help with any questions or concerns.”

Students can also register, pick up textbooks, and speak with financial aid during Super Saturday, which will be held from noon until 2 p.m., Aug. 16, after the Warrior Days orientation. Students needing testing for class placement should be in the Academic Advisement Center by noon.

The FAFSA application can be found online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. To contact the Financial Aid Office, call 618-437-5321, Ext. 1385.
