INA, Ill. (April 17, 2014) – The Rend Lake College Student Transfer and Retention Support (STARS) program is teaming up with South Central Illinois Area Health Education Center (SCI-AHEC) to bring “Lunch ‘n Learn” workshops to the Ina campus. The workshops are designed to help students preparing to graduate and enter the workforce.
“We are welcoming and encouraging students who are preparing to graduate and enter the workforce to attend or any student who is interested,” said Amy Cook, student support services advisor.
The three-day series will begin at noon April 28 with “Polishing Up Your Résumé,” hosted by RLC Employment Specialist Paula Myers. Topics in this workshop will include résumé writing techniques and tips.
On April 29, the workshop will focus on “Interview Preparation and Local Job Availability,” presented by Brenda Malone of Manpower. The session will last from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Finally, on April 30, students will learn how to “Dress for Success” from RLC Cosmetology Director Daphne Mitchell. The session will be one hour long, starting at noon.
All workshops will be held in the Pat Kern Private Dining Area in the Student Center. A light lunch will be provided during every session for those in attendance. There will also be drawings for $25 gift cards daily.
