INA, Ill. (Aug. 16, 2013) – Rend Lake College Community and Corporate Education will be offering several new and unique do-it-yourself classes for interested residents.
Three of the workshops are a part of a home improvement series: Vinyl Siding, Basic Plumbing and Basic Electrical. The goal of the classes is to help homeowners and business owners keep costs down when it comes to repairing and maintaining a building. Each of the workshops cost $15 individually, unless interested persons sign up for all three workshops at a discounted cost of $40.
The dates for the classes are: Vinyl Siding – Saturday, Sept. 21; Basic Plumbing – Saturday, Oct. 19; and Basic Electrical – Saturday, Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. Each class runs from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 103 of the Vocational Building on the Ina campus. The instructor is Wayne Kulich.
Another do-it-yourself class, Principles of Street Rodding, will show participants the fundamentals of creating a street rod while working on a 1939 Chevy Steel car. The cost of this six-session workshop is $89. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. For those interested in continuing the experience, Principles of Street Rodding II will be offered.
With Instructor Jody Martin, street rod enthusiasts in Principles of Street Rodding I will meet on six Tuesdays from 6-9 p.m., starting Sept. 10 and going through Oct. 15. Principles of Street Rodding II will meet the following six Tuesdays, also from 6-9 p.m., from Oct. 22 through Nov. 26. All classes meet in the Vocational Building, Room 125, at the Ina campus.
