INA, Ill.—Rend Lake College is offering a Summer Agricultural Institute class for Preschool through High School educators.
The institute is designed for educators who wish to expand their curriculum to include topics related to agriculture and meet the core standards set by the state. Students will learn about food and technology in and around Southern Illinois as well as how to integrate available resources and hands-on activities about agriculture and the environment into existing classroom curriculum. Teachers will receive 18 CPDUs, curriculum materials, hands-on activities with magic kits integrating academic concepts, and field trips to agribusinesses. Space is limited, so register early. If you are a Farm Bureau member, stipends may be available through the Farm Bureau in the county in which your school is located. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesdays, June 12, 19, and 26 in the Applied Science Building in Room 102 on the main campus in Ina. The registration fee is $99.
