INA, Ill. – Rend Lake College Community and Corporate Education will be offering a series of home improvement courses for people who like to save money by learning the basics of doing it yourself.
Basic Carpentry will be held 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, February 23. Instructor Wayne Kulich will show students the basics of carpentry. Participants will learn how to use hand tools, read a tape measure, and understand how to use a level. Participants will then use what they learn to complete a small in-class carpentry project. This class has a $10 supply fee payable to the instructor.
Basic Electrical Part 2 will be held 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Participants will learn more about basic electrical. After this session participants will be able to replace an outlet and repair or replace a plug on an appliance.
Ceramic Tile will be held 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 27. This class will cover how to work tiling the right way. Participants will be shown how to properly measure and estimate the tiles needed, learn about the tools needed to complete the job, how to prep the area being tiled, how to install the tiles, and the best way to grout.
These home improvement courses can be taken as a series or individually. The registration fee is $15 per class session. Sign up for all 3 classes and receive a $5 discount. Each class will be held at Rend Lake College in the Vocational Building Room 103 with Instructor Wayne Kulich.
