Beginning this month, Rend Lake College will hold pre-entrance examinations for fall admission to its Associate Degree Nursing and Practical Nursing programs.
The Nurse Entrance Tests (NET) will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20; 8:30 a.m. to noon or 12:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17; and 8:30 a.m. to noon or 12:30 to 4 p.m. Friday, March 11. These are the final test offerings before the fall semester.
Before starting the Practical Nursing program, prospective students must have completed Rhetoric and Composition I with a grade of “C” or better. The prerequisites for the Associate Degree Nursing program include English Rhetoric and Composition I, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Introduction to Psychology and Basic Microbiology, all with grades of “C” or better.

For those interested in a career in Surgical Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology or Occupational Therapy Assistant, please contact the Academic Counseling Center at Ext. 1268 to schedule a pre-entrance test. Tests will be offered at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, and Friday, Feb. 4. Students will be selected for these programs on Tuesday, March 1.
