From line dancing to discount shopping, enhance your mind with these offerings in Christopher through the Rend Lake College Community Education Department.
Join us for the second session of “All Around Girls,” to be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 19, at 201 N. State in Christopher. This time, the kids will throw a tea party. Make sure to bring a doll or playmate to the event. Youngsters also will learn to make a “no sew” blanket for their doll or playmate which they can take home as well as no-bake cookies. Class cost plus supply fee is $15.
“Line Dancing” is scheduled for four Monday sessions, March 7 through March 28, each to be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hampton Building. Enjoy exercising while learning the latest line dance steps. Beginners are welcome, so do not pass up this class for fear of being out of step. Course cost is $15.
Sign up for a fun stamping time using everyday household items with “Stampin’ Around the House,” set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 12, at the Christopher Civic Center. Participants will leave with at least four complete hands-on projects. The class costs $13 and is suited for beginning, intermediate and advanced stampers.
“Discount Shopping 4 U” will be held Saturday, April 16. The group will board a bus and begin a day of discount shopping in Paducah, Ky., at the Jewelry and Handbag Warehouse and Trees’n’Trends (unique home decor). The bus will leave the Rend Lake College Student Center at 9 a.m. and will pick up passengers at Christopher High School at 9:30 a.m. The course cost is $25 plus lunch.
