Learn to start a small business with free workshops to be offered this month through Rend Lake College’s Small Business Development Center.
“How to Start Your Own Business and Utilizing DCEO” (WKSP 5305) is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, and again from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 25, at the RLC MarketPlace.
This free course is designed to guide business people to programs available through the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Illinois Entrepreneur Network and SBDC agencies. Topics to be covered include services available, legal structure for business, how to register a business with local, state and federal government, employee issues, developing a business plan and financing options. This workshop is a must for prospective business owners and entrepreneurs.
These workshops are made available through a cooperative agreement between the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Rend Lake College.
