For those who want to understand what “error 550 mailbox not found“ means, Rend Lake College is offering a course on computer troubleshooting that provides the answers to pesky problems of the technical kind.
“Troubleshooting Your Computer” will include instruction on how to solve the typical problems faced by computer users.
The course – which meets every Tuesday, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Oct. 24-Nov.14, in room 165 of the Advanced Technology Center at RLC – will allow participants to save their money in expensive computer repairs by teaching the do-it-yourself knowledge needed to exterminate “bugs” from the system.
The vast majority of problems users experience with their computers are completely avoidable and can be solved in just a few minutes. Knowing exactly what to do in those few minutes is another matter.
This class provides step-by-step instruction on fixing the typical hardware and operating system problems encountered. It will teach students troubleshooting techniques to decipher problems and the skills needed to solve them.
Many problems are brought on by poor PC maintenance and use.
“Troubleshooting Your Computer” also includes a section on how to maintain and optimize a computer for use.
