Southern Illinois employers with positions to fill will be represented when the Center for Business Services at Rend Lake College hosts its fourth annual Career and Technology Job Fair on the Ina campus Tuesday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Many of the area’s largest employers have promised to be on hand to accept resumes and applications for a variety of job openings, according to Job Fair organizers.
There is no admission charge for the event, which is open to the public.
Position openings will run the gamut from full-time to part-time, entry-level and experienced. They will cover a variety of careers, including nursing and health care. Some manufacturing companies will be on hand as well, with positions covering a variety of duties within the realm of the industry, including supervisory and management, clerical, maintenance, custodial, assembly line and factory work.
"We encourage participants to bring their resumes with them," commented Ed Ruffino, Director of the Center for Business Services. "They should come dressed appropriately and be prepared in most cases to complete employment applications and in many instances interview as well."
"The Job Fair is open to anyone in the community who is seeking any type of employment opportunity," added Mark Clark, Cooperative Education and Employment Services Specialist.
Door prizes will be awarded throughout the session, which will be held in Jim Waugh Gymnasium. There also will be a drawing for a Rend Lake College tuition waiver.
