Join representatives of The Republic of Tea and Rend Lake College for "Tea Tasting" Tuesday, March 2, at the RLC MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon.
Those interested can choose from two class times, 9 to 10:30 a.m. or 6 to 7:30 p.m. The class will meet at the RLC Coffee Shop in the MarketPlace.
The class will be led by Linda Champagne, a representative with The Republic of Tea, a factory located in Nashville, Ill. According to Coffee Shop Manager Cindy Hoard, the class will be informational and will center on teas from all over the world. A variety of teas will be available for tasting.
Champagne will discuss several varieties of tea and will explain where they come from and how they are produced. Most of them are picked by hand, Hoard said.
"It should be very interesting," said Hoard.
The class also will serve as a showcase for several of The Republic of Tea’s newest creations, Hoard said. The RLC Coffee Shop has several varieties of the company’s teas available for sale.
The cost of the class is $8. Savor the pace of this beverage and discover a stress release for a hectic day. Chocolates, cookies and other refreshments will be served.
