PINCKNEYVILLE – The Institute of Lifelong Learning at Rend Lake College is offering some rewarding classes at the college’s satellite Murphy Wall Pinckneyville campus.
“Computer Basics Getting Started” will be offered from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 3 -17 in Room 102 at Murphy Wall. The class is designed for those with little or no computer experience, including those who have never used a computer before. The course covers the basics of the Windows XP operating system. Skills learned will include mouse techniques, moving and resizing windows, proper use of the taskbar, the Start menu, and introduction to the windows file system (Windows Explorer) menus and icons. Participants are not required to have a home computer. The instructor will be Carolyn Dyson and the class costs $74.50.
“Computer Basics Internet and Email” will be offered from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 31 thru Nov. 14, in Murphy Wall Room 102. The class is designed for those who would like to learn about the internet and how to use email. Participants will learn how to browse and search the web, as well as how to send and receive email while discovering attachments and message folders. Participants are not required to have a home computer. The instructor will be Carolyn Dyson and the class cost $74.50.
