INA – The Rend Lake College student and faculty/staff Homecoming kings and queens will be crowned Wednesday night during the halftime shows of the RLC vs. John A. Logan College men’s and women’s basketball games.
The faculty/staff king and queen will be crowned at halftime of the Lady Warriors basketball game at 5:30 p.m., and the student king and queen will be crowned at halftime of the men’s game at 7 p.m.
The student court is made up of Dawn Feezer (Mt. Vernon), Dianna Hatfield (Wayne City), Hannah Keeney (Villa Grove), Hannah Simmons (McLeansboro), Michelle Rose (Marion), Jennie True (Carbondale), Kelsey Knapp (Pinckneyville), Lauren Steffy (Mt. Vernon), Rachel Keim (Carterville), Leroy David Griffin (Effingham), Olen Rodriguez (Benton), Alex Crain (McLeansboro), Eric Rieckenberg (Pinckneyville), Derek Moore (Bonnie) and Robert Kapsoiyo (Eldoret, Kenya). Candidates are nominated by various student organizations and teams at the college.
The faculty/staff court consists of Applied Science and Technology Division Chair Sarah Bond, Counselor Jena Jensik, Women’s Golf Coach Cindy Corn, Computer Science Instructor Brad Helm, Mining Technology Instructor David Colombo and Educational Technology Specialist Greg Poole. Faculty and staff candidates are nominated by their co-workers at RLC.
As part of a “blackout” theme, the first 50 fans to enter the doors at Waugh Gymnasium Wednesday night will receive a free tee-shirt. Additional themed events will be taking place on campus throughout homecoming week at RLC.
