INA - The Rend Lake College Lil' Laker Girl Dancer of the Week Award went to Taryn Harsy of Murphysboro. Kate McKay of Belle Rive earned the Most Improved Dancer Award.
In addition to Harsy and McKay, those who participated in camp were Addisyn Callori of Royalton, Mia McLain of Benton, Madi McLain of Benton, Ellyana Fitzpatrick of Logan, Kennedy Lakowski of Mt. Vernon, Zoe Heffner-Hawkins of Mt. Vernon, Kelsi Ham of Opdyke, Savanah Henry of Mulkeytown, Laci Spencer of Woodlawn, Alex Miller of McLeansboro, Emily Bulla of Sesser, Mallory Zettler of Benton, Anna Miller of McLeansboro, MaKala Thompson of Whittington, Molli Harvey of Centralia, Emelyn Darnell of DuQuoin, Ireland Fitzpatrick of Logan, Nevaeh Flannigan of West Frankfort, and Dailyn Noble.
During a week-long summer dance camp, the dancers learned four routines in various aspects of dance and technical skills. Rend Lake College Dance team members and Coach Brooke Taylor taught them a hip-hop routine, choreographed and taught by Olivia Barbee (Wayne City); a jazz routine, choreographed and taught by Sierra Creighton (Wayne City); and a pom routine, choreographed and taught by Jill Porter and Emily Cicardi (Pinckneyville).
Technique was taught by Darcie Brand (Pinckneyville) and Chelsea Benedict (Sesser), and all RLC dancers pitched in to teach campers an overall camp routine.
