WAYNE CITY, Ill. - Rend Lake College Community Education classes being offered this winter and spring in Wayne City include offerings for the young and old.
Kids can join Paula Hatfield as she instructs "Kids in the Kitchen Spring." They will learn how to dye eggs the old-fashioned way, make a boo boo bunny and an Easter cupcake. This course will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd from 3:30-5:30p.m. in the Wayne City High School Home Ec Room. The registration fee is $10 and a supply fee of $5 is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class. Students must be 6+ years old or accompanied by an adult. School-age children will be supervised following school until class begins.
"Understanding Diabetes" is for students who have been living with diabetes, just been diagnosed, or are simply wanting more information on the disease. Linda Duckworth instructs students on the signs and types of diabetes, as well as blood sugar monitoring. Students will also learn the proper way to manage this disease through meal planning, exercise, and medical assistance. This class will meet on Monday, April 19th from 6-8p.m. at Wayne City High School's Distance Learning Room. Registration fee is $5.
