INA - Rend Lake College announces public invitation to the Institute of Lifelong Learning Spring 2010 Welcome Reception.
The Welcome Reception will be held on Thursday, February 18th from 1-3p.m. at the Historic Schoolhouse on the Rend Lake College main campus. This free reception is offered to share information about classes and trips that are being offered through the Institute of Lifelong Learning.
The Institute of Lifelong Learning is an organization of retirement-age people who share a common interest in lifelong learning and cultural enrichment. The only requirement to participate is a desire to learn more about subjects, including the humanities, performing arts, religion, history, current events, sciences, and personal growth.
The reception will feature information on upcoming day trips which include Taste of St. Louis, an orchard and vineyard tour through Southern Illinois, an evening tour regarding the history and haunting stories of Lebanon and an art and history tour of Mt. Vernon.
Guests at the reception will also learn more on upcoming classes about tapestry art, a history reenactment, Southern Illinois poetry, and a mystery dinner theater. Participants will discover more on a class that improves flexibility and strength, a class on how to save energy, and learn how they can join in a discussion about the Civil War. Guests will also learn about a class that shows you how easy it is to do computer research and one that covers the cultural stages of the Illinois Indians
Refreshments will be served and participants will be given the opportunity to register for classes and trips.
