INA, Ill. - Students with the Future Educators Association at Rend Lake College have announced two events coming up next week on the main campus in Ina aimed at building children's book collections at the college.
A Chalk Walk, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, will be a creative way to honor past educators by drawing or writing messages or dedications on the sidewalk with chalk, according to organizers. The event is free for anyone to participate. Donations are appreciated and will be used to purchase new books for the RLC Foundation Children's Center and RLC Children's Library. The Chalk Walk will take place near the clocktower on campus.
Another event organized to raise funding for new books at the two faciilities is the FEA Book Fair, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday - Thursday, April 5-7. Organizers say a variety of books for varying ages will be for sale. This event will also take place near the clocktower, however, it will be moved to Learning Resource Center Room 205 in the event of weather.
