Student Art Show opens Thursday with presentation, running through May 2

INA, Ill. (March 25, 2014) – Rend Lake College's 2014 Student Art Show will begin Thursday night and last through May 2 in the Learning Resource Center Gallery and Theatre Lobby at the Ina campus, featuring work by RLC students and area high school students.

A reception will be held from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday in the RLC Theatre Lobby. Hors d’oeuvres will be served from 6 – 7 p.m., followed by an awards presentation. Students submitted pieces to RLC through the week of March 3 for the show. Their work was reviewed for scholarship opportunities and was hung last week.

The students selected for scholarships and awards will be chosen and presented during the opening night presentation. Some of the scholarships and awards that will be presented include the Best of Show, RLC Foundation Award, Purchase Award, Best Portfolio, Claxton Award, Alyssa Award, RLC Scholarships, and Adam Lee Lorance Memorial Scholarship Award.
