MOUNT VERNON, Ill. — Rend Lake College Community and Corporate Education and the RLC Cosmetology program are offering two continuing education courses Men’s Haircutting and Advanced Color Technique at the RLC Marketplace in Mt. Vernon.
Men’s Haircutting will be held from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Monday, April 29. This course is for licensed cosmetologists and is worth 3 continuing education hours. It will provide additional training in men’s haircutting and current styles to cosmetologists of all skill levels. Instructor Daphne Mitchell with teach stylists crucial techniques, tools, and approaches. Students should bring clippers/trimmers, clipper guards, scissors, thinning shears/razor, combs, and clips. Mannequins will be provided. The registration fee is $46, plus a $35 supply fee.
Advanced Color Technique will be held from 1 – 5 p.m., Monday, April 29. This course is for licensed cosmetologists and is worth 4 continuing education hours. This course will allow the colorist to focus on technique, build level of skills for coloring, and grow color knowledge. Instructor Daphne Mitchell will show colorists the hair structure and color’s effects on hair, steps to formulation, and placement and effect of color techniques. Products and materials will be supplied to students. The registration fee is $46, plus a $50 supply fee.
Both classes will be held at Studio RLC in the RLC MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon.
