Enrollment is ongoing for the emergency medical technician program. EMTs and paramedics provide one of the most vital services in the medical during life-and-death situations.

RLC students can receive training as a first responder with EMT-Basic or as an EMT-Paramedic. They will also be prepared to complete the certification requirements. All EMTs are licensed by the state. Each level of EMT training requires more classroom and clinical hours as well as continuing education requirements. You will also be required to take written and hands-on examinations before you receive your certification.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for EMTs and paramedics are expected to grow by 11 percent over the next decade, a rate that is faster than the average for all occupations.
