INA, Ill. (Jan. 10, 2020) — Advance your skills in Microsoft Word and Excel this spring through Rend Lake College’s Community and Corporate Education courses.

Beginning MS Word will take place 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 17 and March 24. In the class, participants will learn how to use the menu system and toolbars; open, reopen, print, save and close documents; insert and delete text; reverse an edit; apply font attributes and move text blocks; use the spelling and grammar checker, thesaurus and the help menu; and customize the AutoCorrect Dictionary. The class, taught by Zach Rounds, costs $25 and will take place in the Academic Building, Room 215.
Beginning MS Excel takes place on Mondays, March 30 and April 6 from 6-8 p.m. in the Academic Building, Room 215. In the class, taught by Zach Rounds, students will learn the fundamental operations of spreadsheets, including: how to use the menu system and toolbars; opening, printing and closing workbooks; entering labels; adding values and formulas to worksheets; formatting; using borders and shading; and changing the page setup. The course costs $25.
Intermediate MS Word takes a deeper dive into the functions of Microsoft Word and builds upon knowledge gained through the Beginning MS Word course. The class takes place 6-8 p.m. on Mondays, April 13 and April 20 in the Academic Building, Room 215. The course is taught by Zach Rounds and costs $25.
Intermediate MS Excel also expands on skills learned in the beginner course on how to utilize spreadsheets. The course takes place 6-8 p.m. on Mondays, April 27 and May 4 in the Academic Building, Room 215. Zach Rounds will teach the course, which costs $25.
