ATTENTION: 

  • Thursday October 5 — The pool will be closing at noon.  Open swim hours are 6:30 am to noon. 
  • Friday October 6 — The pool will be closed.
  • Saturday October 7 — Saturdays are back! The pool will be open from 9:00 am to noon, beginning Oct. 7.

Regular Hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 6:30 — 9:00 am | Noon — 2:30 pm
    (Building closes at 2:30 pm, including locker rooms)
  • Friday: 6:30 am — 1:00 pm
    (Building closes at 1:00 pm, including locker rooms)
  • Saturday: 9:00 am — Noon
    (Closed some Saturdays)

Summer Hours: 

  • MW Aerobics class 11 am -12 pm
  • MW Arthritis class 7:30-8:30 am, 8:30-9:30 am
  • MW No lap lane available from 9-11 am
  • T/TH Aerobics class 9-10 am
  • T/TH Arthritis class 10-11 am
  • T/TH 1 lap lane available from 8-11
  • Locker rooms and building must be clear by 2:30
Welcome

The modern facility includes a six-lane, 25-yard lap pool, a 10-foot diameter whirlpool and a 10 x 20-foot hydro therapy pool. The lap pool has a ramp for the physically challenged and both pools are equipped with stairs and a hydraulic chair lift to assist patrons into the water. Included are shower and locker room facilities, a changing room for elderly or physically challenged individuals who need assistance by a member of the opposite sex and a common lobby entrance adjacent to Waugh Gymnasium.

Swimming

Swimming I — An introduction to elementary swimming

Swimming II — Master the crawl, side stroke, breast stroke, inverted breast stroke and butterfly.

Swimming III — An introduction to advanced strokes, and more water safety, water revival and rescue.

Water Aerobics

Aquatic Aerobic Fitness I — Increase cardiovascular efficiency, improve muscle tone and reduce the percent of body fat by engaging in a multi-station water aerobic circuit and lap swimming. Letter grade or pass/fail options available.

Aquatic Aerobic Fitness II — For students desiring to continue to benefit from the multi-station water aerobic circuit and lap swimming.

Aquatic Aerobic Fitness III — F

Arthritis Aquatics

A continuation of Water Aerobics to give people with arthritis and minimal joint involvement who have completed the credit courses an opportunity to do gentle, warm water activities which may lead to endurance-building and muscle-strengthening. This course is non-credit and no grade is assigned.

Lifeguard Training

Develop skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies required to become a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard.

FAQ

When can I swim if I have a membership?
You are welcome to use the facility during any of the open swim hours.

How old do I have to be to take an aquatics class?
If the class is a college credit class, you must be in high school and have written permission from your principal if the course is taken during the school year.

What is the temperature of the water?
The lap pool is kept at 85 degrees. The whirlpool is 100 degrees.

Do I have to be able to swim to take the Arthritis Aquatics class?
No. All activities are performed in shallow water with your face out of the water.

How deep is the pool?
The shallow end starts at 3 1/2 feet and the deep end is 7 1/2 feet deep.

Can my child bring floaties or any other toys to the pool?
We do not allow inflatable flotation devices of any kind. Other flotation devices and toys must be approved by the pool management.
