Applying for Financial Aid
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid after October 1st for the upcoming school year.
Your application may be selected for a process called verification.
The Financial Aid Office will mail you a letter listing the items needed for verification and a worksheet to be completed. Your financial aid award cannot be determined until all of the requested forms are received. Contact the Financial Aid Office at (618) 437-5321 ext. 1385 for more information.
After the school receives ALL required documents and makes any necessary corrections, you will be mailed an award letter.
An award letter is your confirmation that you have been approved to receive grants. Do not assume that grants have been processed for you until you receive an award letter from the school.
Your aid will be applied to tuition and fees.
Remaining funds can be used for books and supplies in the RLC Bookstore during the first three weeks of the semester.
What if I'm not grant eligible?If the results of the FAFSA indicate that you are not grant eligible, the Financial Aid Office will take no further action on your application.

Special CircumstancesIf you or your family's financial situation has worsened due to a death, separation/ divorce, or a loss of a job or benefits, you may meet one of the "Special Circumstances" that will allow financial aid eligibility to be based on expected gross income rather than actual prior-year income information. If you feel you may meet one of these special circumstances, contact the Financial Aid Office.
