INA, Ill. (Jan. 24, 2018) - With just over three weeks until the start of their season, the Rend Lake College Baseball Warriors are chomping at the bit to get on the dimond and start competing.
Warriors Head Coach Tyler O'Daniel has had a busy off-season, brining in quite the crop of newcomers to Ina next spring. These fresh faces are looking forward to putting on that RLC uniform.
Will Pratt comes to the Warriors from Sikeston, Mo. In high school, Pratt was an All-District and All-Conference baseball standout both junior and senior year.
Ty Ellis is a two-sport phenome out of Kennett, Mo. In baseball, Ellis lettered sophomore, junior and senior year and was All-Conference, All-Conference Tournament Team and All-District. On the gridiron, Ellis lettered sophomore, junior and senior year and was an All-Conference First Team defensive back and wide receiver and was All-Region First Team defensive back, wide receiver and specialty receiver.
Garrett Fritz notched baseball All-State honors his senior year and was All-Conference as a freshman, sophomore and junior at Okaw Valley High School in Bethany, Ill. He was named the Herald and Review All-Area Catcher in 2016 and 2017.
Mason Libla was a letterman in baseball all four years for the Poplar Bluff High School Mules. He was a two-time, All-Conference and All-District catcher. He was also a letterman in football for three years.
Grant Jausel was a junior-year All-Conference baseball player out of Swanwick, Ill. He also had a lot of success on the hardwood, being named All-Conference both junior and senior year and getting All-South and All-State honors his junior year.
Reid Rector, from Bloomington, Ill., was an All-Conference baseball player for the Purple Raiders. Rector was also named a Big 12 Scholar Athlete.
Winston Strawn is bringing a championship resume to the Warriors. As a member of the Conway Christian baseball team (Plumerville, Ark.), Strawn notched district and regional championships as a freshmen, sophomore and junior. The team also won the conference his freshman and sophomore year. He was All-Conference freshman, sophomore and junior year and All-State as a junior. Also during his junior year, he was named the team’s MVP by Max Preps. Off the diamond, Strawn was All-State for tennis all four years of high school.
Lucas Wolfe is just as comfortable throwing a baseball as he is hitting a golf ball. He was a varsity baseball player all four years with the West Frankfort Red Birds. On the links, Wolfe was All-Conference his junior year and All-Conference and All-South his senior year.
Pryce Jones is from Bethany Beach, Del. He had 32 strikeouts in 29.1 innings for the Indian River Indians, and for the East Coast Lumberjacks, Jones struck out 50 in 48 innings.
Michael Thomason was a letterman in both basketball and baseball for Carlisle County High School in Bardwell, Ill.
Clyde Hope attended Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Ind.
Devon Valentino travels to Ina from Cincinnati, Ohio.
Austin Brock played for Senath-Hornersville High School in Senath, Mo. We was named All-Conference in 2017.
