Medical Scribe 


Job Description

Our company is currently looking to recruit students to work as a Medical Scribe in Centralia, IL. The scribe will work side by side with providers assisting with documentation for each patient evaluated by the provider. It is an exceptional opportunity for any student interested in medicine to gain first-hand experience following a provider.

The role of a scribe is to closely collaborate with their assigned provider by documenting the history of each patient evaluated, the providers physical examination, the results of laboratory/radiological studies ordered, and the eventual diagnosis and disposition.  Becoming a scribe provides the student with first rate exposure to medical terminology, disease processes, emergency procedures, medications, and the medical decision making process performed by the physicians.

There are multiple shifts, both day and night and each shift consists of following a single physician, usually lasting 8-12 hours. It is expected that each scribe can commit to 2 shifts per week for at least 2 years. Paid classroom & clinical training is provided. The training is extensive and intense. Each employee will have multiple training sessions both in the classroom and the emergency department during which we teach the flow of the emergency room, extensive medical terminology, and appropriate medical/legal documentation.

Qualifications

This job is not for everyone, the complexity of the material and fast-paced environment necessitate that only the sharpest and most motivated students succeed as a scribe.  We are looking for dependable and hard working employees that have a desire for an eventual career in medicine, or are interested in learning more about careers in medicine.

Job Description

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK:

Under the direction of the Building Inspector, performs various tasks related to enforcement of nuisance code violations and the cleanup of City property.Temporary Part Time Personnel in the Inspection Dept. 

HOURS OF WORK:     

Part-time personnel works as scheduled by the Building Inspector or Nuisance Code Enforcement Supervisor. A typical working shift is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Some positions require evening work and/or weekend shifts. Total number of hours shall be less than 1,000 hours annually.

FLSA Classification:  Non-exempt

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:

  • Mowing, trimming and removal of grass, weeds, bushes, trees, limbs, evergreens, etc.on City and private property.
  • Painting City signs, guardrails, etc.
  • Maintenance and repair and cleaning of mowing equipment
  • Cleaning, organizing and proper caring of tools and equipment
  • Picking up of garbage, litter, debris and other materials from City and private property
  • Assist Nuisance Code Officer with the posting of code violations
  • Other assigned and related duties

Qualifications

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently and problem solve without direct and constant supervision.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the general public and fellow employees.

EDUCATION:

Job Summary:

The HR Specialist supports the HR Manager and HR Generalists within a Distribution Center (DC). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing customer service to DC Team Members in areas of payroll, time and attendance, benefits, safety, worker’s compensation, leaves, company policies, local DC policies, and training. Responsible for HR coordination and administration activities including data entry, maintenance of personnel/medical files, and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) log.
  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Delivers high level of customer-facing service to Team Members and leaders.  Handles difficult conversations and communicates information to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensures all Team Members are entered and processed correctly in the Kronos time-keeping system.  Responsible for payroll duties.  Ensures increases are processed on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Maintains Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) with all Team Member personnel transactions. Applies attendance policy by entering data and communicating as needed.
  • Assists the HR Generalist with various events, such as new Team Member orientation, benefits reviews, and Open Enrollment. Interacts with vendors and suppliers to meet internal customer needs.
  • Supports communication by updating bulletin boards and posting information for Team Members in the DC. Serves as liaison to Headquarters on HR-related matters, and collaborate with Centers of Expertise as needed.
  • Assists the HR Generalist by coordinating outreach efforts, scheduling interviews, checking references, and other Talent Acquisition support functions.
  • Responsible for worker’s compensation processing for DC employees; including submission of initial claim, data entry into the worker’s compensation system and notification to the carrier of the Team Member’s medical status and/or return to work.
  • Processes all Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Leave of Absence documents for approval process. Tracks FMLA time taken. Communicates information and updates to Team Members.

Qualifications

External Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of human resources experience in employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and payroll processes
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, Labor and Employment laws, Workers’ compensation, FMLA, ADA and OSHA laws
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience with Kronos timekeeping, worker’s compensation, and/ or HRIS.
