Elizabeth Kasey - Women's Golf (1995-1997)

Elizabeth Kasey left Panama City Beach, FL, to gain NJCAA Second-Team All-America status and help the first Lady Warrior golf team claim a Region XXIV championship and finish sixth-in-the-nation in 2000. Her four-day, 72-hole total of 338 as a freshman was 27 strokes better than her nearest teammate and ninth-best overall out of 73 competitors.

Kasey, now 27 years of age, repeated All-Region honors as a sophomore and was 30th individually in the NJCAA Finals for a squad that was seventh.

The 5-foot-4 Kasey warmed up for Nationals as a freshman by tying for fourth at the five-team McKendree Invitational and winning medalist distinction at the six-team John A. Logan Tournament with a score of 80-83–163 in the last two outings before the spring finale.

In Shawnee, OK, the site of the NJCAA Championships both seasons, she impressed with an 18-hole total of 81 between an opening 88 and third-round 89, then closed in All-America fashion with an eight-over par 80 and 338 card. Coincidentally, the 27-stroke advantage she held over any teammate helped defeat Region XXIV runner-up rival and seventh-place NJCAA finisher Logan by 27 shots. Kasey played both falls in the shadow of Region XXIV individual champ Bobbie Jo Bivens before blooming in split campaigns to earn two Spring “Most Valuable Player” recognitions. Kasey earned All-Region acclaim by taking fourth as a freshman (85-89–174) and third as a sophomore (84-88–172). She also was named all-tournament in Fall 1999 at the 18-team Illinois Wesleyan Invitational against four-year competition (18th individually) and the RLC Mary M. O’Neal Classic (fifth). Prior to the return trip to the finals as a soph, when her 356 score was second-best among Lady Warriors only to the 348 of Roberta Sentel, Kasey captured medalist honors at the McKendree Invite and was third at Embry-Riddle’s tourney. Kasey starred her final two seasons at Arkansas Tech University, along with Juco teammates Bivens and Megan Mosel. She returned to assist Coach Cindy Corn in 2004-05 when the team placed fourth in the NJCAA Championships.

She is a member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and is a Club Teaching Professional in her Florida hometown.
