Rend Lake College is a participant in the Federal Work Study America Reads and America Counts programs as well as the Midwest Campus Compact and AmeriCorps program of M3C Citizens Fellowship program. As an America Reads or America Counts or M3C Fellows tutor, students work approximately 10 to 15 hours each week working one-on-one and in small groups teaching reading literacy and math skills to young grade school students. Tutors are paid $7.50 per hour as a Federal Work Study student. In addition as an M3C Fellow, they are also eligible for a $1000 scholarship upon the completion of 300 hours of tutoring.
