A four-day, hands-on workshop especially for small business owners/operators, professionals or other individuals needing assistance with the accounting/payroll software, “QuickBooks Pro 2003,” is scheduled Tuesday and Thursday afternoons beginning October 4 at the Rend Lake College Murphy-Wall Pinckneyville Campus.
All four sessions – October 4, 6, 11 and 13 – will meet from 1-5 p.m. Registration is in progress through noon Monday, October 3.
The presenter will be Clara Mae Wilhelm, Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor and an Accountant with Boyce, Hund & Associates of Mascoutah.
“Her knowledge of the QuickBooks program and her accounting experience make her the perfect instructor for this class,” according to RLC Center for Business representatives. Class size will be limited.
The 16-hour class is sponsored by the RLC Center for Business. It was developed through a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs and Rend Lake College.
Participants will learn how to:
• Create a new company file
• Work with the chart of accounts and bank accounts
• Enter sales
• Create invoices
• Receive payments and make deposits
• Produce financial reports
• Work with payroll
A basic knowledge of the personal computer and Microsoft Windows fundamentals is expected for participants. The $150 cost for the four sessions covers the textbook and any other materials provided.
