MEN'S BASKETBALL: Gamber, Trotter get postseason honors
INA – Rend Lake College basketball sophs Brian Gamber and CJ Trotter were tapped for postseason honors.
Gamber, a 6-6 guard from Mt. Vernon Township High School, was named to the 2008-09 Region 24’s First Team and Great Rivers Athletic Conference First Team. He averaged 14.23 points and 7.846 rebounds, shooting 44.13 percent from field goal range and 78.99 percent from the free-throw line in 26 games as a sophomore at RLC. Gamber will be playing at Taylor University in Indiana this coming fall.
Trotter, a 6-4 guard from Hopkinsville, Ky., and Christian County High School, was named Second-Team All-Conference and received an honorable mention to the All-Region team. He averaged 13.64 points and 5.24 boards per game with a free-throw percentage of 80 and field goal percentage of 43.25.
