INA, Ill. - Rend Lake College Community and Corporate Education announces the Genealogy Basic course.
Genealogy Basics will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Historic Schoolhouse on the RLC main campus. This course was designed for people interested in learning how to research their family heritage. This course will show participants how to search and document old census records and other public vital records.
Utilizing the internet, Instructor Jon Musgrave will guide students on how to find information on ancestors using both free genealogy sites as well as subscription sites. The content of this class will help beginners who have never started their research and enhance the research skills of those who have already started.
A portion of this class will be held in a computer lab, therefore basic computer internet experience is required. The registration fee is $45. A catered lunch will be provided and is included in the price.
