MOUNT VERNON, Ill.—Rend Lake College will be offering two one-day courses this fall semester designed for licensed cosmetologists. These classes provide an opportunity for cosmetologists to earn continuing education credit.
Men’s Haircutting will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 4, at Studio RLC, located at the RLC MarketPlace in Mount Vernon. This course is worth three continuing education hours and is designed to provide additional training in men’s haircutting. Cosmetologists of all skills levels can learn current styles. The stylist will discover crucial techniques, tools, and approaches. Participants need to bring clippers/trimmers, clipper guards, scissors, thinning shears/razor, combs, and clips. A mannequin will be provided. The registration fee is $46 and there is a $35 supply fee.
Advanced Color Techniques will be held from 1 – 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Studio RLC. This course is worth four continuing education hours. This course was designed to enable the colorist to focus on technique, build level of skills to enjoy coloring, and grow color knowledge. The colorist will be exposed to hair structure and color’s effects on hair, steps to formulation, and placement and effect of color techniques. Products and materials will be supplied. The registration fee is $46 and there is a $50 supply fee.
