FREE MICROSOFT OFFICE 2010 WORKSHOPS FOR BEGINNERS COMING UP
Become a more effective student or brush up on your office skills with three free quick computer workshops coming to Rend Lake College starting this month.
Beginning Word 2010 (Saturday, Jan. 21) - Learn to prepare reports and documents using Microsoft Word 2010. Discover how to use the menu system and toolbars; open, reopen, print, save and close documents; insert and delete text, reverse an edit operation, apply font attributes to text, and move text blocks. Also, find out how to reduce typos and increase your vocabulary with the spelling, grammar and thesaurus tools.
Beginning Excel 2010 (Saturday, Feb. 11) - For those who frequently work with numbers, this workshop will impart shortcuts and tricks for setting up fully formatted worksheets quickly and efficiently. Students will learn the secrets to adding values and formulas into worksheets, formatting spreadsheets by adjusting the sizes of columns and rows, using borders and shading, and changing the page setup.
Beginning PowerPoint 2010 (Saturday, Feb. 25) - PowerPoint is a software program designed to create impressive presentations. Participants will find out how to create slides that contain text, objects, animations, slide transitions, sounds, charts, outlines, media clips, clip art, and hyperlinks.
Each of these free workshops will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Room 207 of the Learning Resource Center at Rend Lake College. Seating is limited and preregistration is required.
These workshops are a part of the Eliminate the Digital Divide Grant program made available through the Illinois State Library and Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity.
