Mt. Vernon – If you feed them, they will come.
At least, that is what organizers hope for as they treat area high school students to a free dinner at the 2006 Agriculture College Night.
Rend Lake College will be one of a handful of area educational institutions hosting the 2006 Agriculture College Night, at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building at Veterans Park in Mt. Vernon.
Area high school agriculture students are invited to meet with representatives of RLC – as well as those from SIU-Carbondale, the University of Illinois and Kaskaskia College – to learn about the ag programs at prospective colleges and universities and potential careers in the field of agriculture.
Agriculture night is a great way for students to learn more about what is out there in the field. It provides a one-stop showroom where students can gather an abundance of information about the outstanding agriculture programs at Rend Lake College and offerings from other educational facilities.
