Rend Lake College means more than just education -- it is a road to a great career. As a College Goal Sunday participant, RLC will provide free assistance in completing financial aid forms to help potential students get on the fast track to a rewarding future.
The event will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 22, at the Rend Lake College MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon. According to the Financial Aid/Admission Awareness Month Web site, college-bound students of all ages and their families are welcome. The process takes only an hour.
A financial aid advisor will be on site and prospective college students can explore federal and state financial aid options. Attendees also have the chance to win a book scholarship.
Potential students will receive free help in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It is recommended that students and parents bring their completed 2003 federal tax forms as well as W-2 forms, driver’s licenses and other financial information.
According to FAAM, "It doesn’t matter who you are, where you live or where you go to high school. When you talk about college, you’re talking about your life, your future, your dreams. That means it is your choice."
