PINCKNEYVILLE – Rend Lake College has an exciting schedule of Community Education slated for Pinckneyville.
Start fresh on the right path with “Planning Your Career” from 7- 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday, Jan. 22 - April 4, in room 12 at Pinckneyville Community High School. Instructor Lisa Stanton will ask participants about their career path as they figure out the right college, the right major and the right starting point toward their dream job. The goal of the course is to help individuals answer the questions about themselves and begin the quest for a new adventure ... a new career! The course will provide framework that assists with the Career Decision-Making Process. Cost is $31 plus a supply fee.
Join instructor Emma Johnson in weaving a surprise wall basket in “Basket Weaving: Mystery Basket” from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday, March 10, in room 101 at the RLC Murphy-Wall Pinckneyville Campus. Bring a yard stick or tape measure, scissors, a small flathead screwdriver, clothespins, and an old towel to class. The class costs $12 plus a $10 supply fee payable to Johnson.
Prepare to ace the ACT with a class that meets from 5:30 - 8:30 each Tuesday, March 18 - April 15, in room 15 at Pinckneyville Community High School. “ACT Prep” is for high school juniors and seniors and is designed to teach the reading, English, science and math skills needed to do well on the ACT. Test-taking skills will be emphasized. Students must purchase the $20.27 Barron’s ACT 2007 textbook which will be available for purchase during the first day of class. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. The cost of this five-session course is $69 plus the textbook fee. The instructor is Andrea Banach.
Discover the joy of golf in RLC’s four-session “Golf Clinic: Beginners/Intermediate”from 6 - 7 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday, April 22 - May 1, at Red Hawk Country Club. Basic fundamentals of this popular game will be covered, including rules and etiquette and instruction in all phases of golf. Safety and key components like putting, chipping and swinging will be learned to help participants enjoy the game of a lifetime. Intermediate golfers will review plus work on areas of improvement. Students must pay for range balls in addition to the $39 registration fee. This clinic will be led by Dan Breslin.
