Today’s working world often requires communication across cultural lines. For those who need to communicate with Spanish speakers, Rend Lake College offers Command Spanish.
RLC is the only licensed institution in the lower third of Illinois to offer Command Spanish. The course provides language and cross-cultural skills for non-Spanish speakers who must communicate with people who speak Spanish as part of their careers.
The Command Spanish instructional system incorporates work-specific language, phonetic encoding and non-grammar based materials to teach non-Spanish speakers survival Spanish for the workplace.
Two Command Spanish courses are offered through RLC. "Command Spanish for School Administrators and Teachers" begins January 13 and runs through May 14 in Academic Building Room 212 at the Rend Lake College Campus in Ina. The class meets from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
"Command Spanish for the Criminal Justice Field" meets from 5-6:50 p.m. on Thursdays beginning January 13 and running through May 14 in Room 344 at the Rend Lake MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon.
