INA - Rend Lake College's Institute of Lifelong Learning announces special guest presenters for the Spring 2009 Welcome Reception. Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln presenters will be on hand to help introduce the spring classes and to assist in celebrating the 200th Birthday of Abraham Lincoln.
Don't miss the opportunity to learn more about the exciting courses and trips being offered this spring through Rend Lake College's Institute of Lifelong Learning. The free Welcome Reception will be held from 1-3pm Thursday, February 12, in the Historic Schoolhouse at Rend Lake College. Refreshments will be served and individuals will have the chance to register for upcoming courses and trips.
The reception will feature more information on upcoming trips which include a historical journey of Southern Illinois along the Southern Illinois portion of the Trail of Tears, a yummy sweets tour of St. Louis's finest bakeries, and a day trip to Hannibal, Missouri to the home of Samuel Clemens (a.k.a. Mark Twain). Learn more about classes in saving money and discover World War I Poetry. Expand your knowledge of computers and learn more about India, Abraham Lincoln, and the history of Southern Illinois Railroads. Find out how to attend a free Mark Twain Impersonator event. Learn about the Lifelong Learner Luncheon put on by RLC Culinary Arts students and featuring the RLC Community Chorus. Gain more knowledge on how to be a safer driver and discover details about the RLC Dinner and Theater special evening in March for the RLC theatre production of Annie Get Your Gun.
