Get on the bus and spend a day with Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, and Becky Thatcher as you discover the delightful home of Samuel Clemens on the “Hannibal, MO Tour Home of Mark Twain”.
On this exciting trip, RLC is teaming up with The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest.
The journey will begin traveling by motor coach leaving RLC on Saturday, April 25th at 7 a.m. with a pick up stop in Mt. Vernon on the way. Upon arrival at our destination, we will meet Tom and Becky. Then it’s off to lunch at the Mark Twain Dinette.
The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum properties include six historically significant buildings and two exciting, interactive museums, whose collections boast 15 original Norman Rockwell paintings. See firsthand how a young boy growing up in the small village became one of the world’s most beloved authors.
But that’s not all...after we spend the day exploring Hannibal, we will take a trolley ride through the town. Estimated arrival back at RLC is 9pm.
