INA – The upcoming Career Job Fair at Rend Lake College is a great way to find employment in the area. More than 40 area employers will be on hand, looking for the employees they need now.
This event, co-sponsored by the RLC Center for Business Services, the Illinois Small Business Development Center Network and a Federal Perkins Technical Preparation grant, is just as important to visiting employers as it is to potential employees who attend, according to Kathy Craig, Director of the RLC Center for Business Services.
“With all the bad news about the economy lately, people out there who need employment may think jobs are not available for them,” she said. “That’s simply not the case. We are bringing in a number of area employers who have open positions now and are eager to find skilled workers.”
The Career Job Fair is free to attend and will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, Thursday, April 2, in Waugh Gym on the RLC Main Campus in Ina.
Bringing this many employers to one location is optimal for job seekers looking to get their application into the hands of as many potential employers as possible.
According to Craig, employers at the event will vary by industry and there will be a strong showing from healthcare, coal and agriculture.
Representatives of numerous area employers will be on-hand to discuss career opportunities and accept resumes. Those planning to attend should prepare to bring their resumes, and come dressed to interview and ready to complete employment applications. The RLC Career Job Fair is open to anyone seeking any type of employment opportunity in any field.
