COLLEGE 101 - Benton sophomore Wayde Kelley and Mt. Vernon sophomore Tanacia Thomas watch Rend Lake College Chef Instructor Brian Kalata as he serves the pizzas they cooked today at Career Camp on the Ina campus. The week-long camp was a crash course on college life. Students attended classes in programs like culinary arts (pictured above), industrial electronics and maintenance, architecture, nursing, cosmetology and graphic design. They also spent the night in apartments to learn more about what living in campus housing would be like. Career Camp wrapped up today at RLC as numerous students were scattered across the campus in classes. Some could be seen staring at a campus map or asking for directions to their next class. Career Camp was coordinated by the Upward Bound and Alternative Education programs at RLC with staff from across campus departments pitching in to make it a success. CLICK HERE for a larger photo.
