INA, Ill. - The Rend Lake College Foundation has announced a new scholarship opportunity, courtesy of the McLeansboro Coal Association.
On behalf of the MCA, President Judy Thomas and RLC Trustee Dr. Don Mitchell, who serves as secretary and treasurer for the Association, have created two scholarships for $1,000 each for the upcoming Spring semester.
The scholarships are for coal mining technology majors, preferably from Hamilton County or graduates of Hamilton County Senior High School. Applicants must be enrolled full-time and maintain a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
To apply, simply go to the Foundation's office in the Administration Building on campus or visit the RLCF online at www.rlc.edu/foundation and select "RLCF Scholarship Application."
The deadline to apply for a McLeansboro Coal Association Scholarship is Dec. 1, 2009.
