MT. VERNON, Ill. - Rend Lake College reveals an upcoming quick computer workshop class designed to address the unique accounting needs of those in the Ag World. QuickBooks for the Ag World is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, Dec. 15, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Rend Lake College Marketplace in Mt. Vernon.
Quick computer workshops are convenient classes offered through Community Education. They are designed for people in the community who are interested in learning about computer software applications. These classes offer people the chance to take a one or three day class. They are quick, convenient and help meet the educational and personal development needs of the people and businesses in the community.
QuickBooks for the Ag World will focus on how to use QuickBooks 2009 to run a farm business more efficiently. Participants will receive hands-on practice using features that are sure to be used on a regular basis.
The class will cover how to record cash income and how to deduct hauling, commission and other expenses from a deposit. Participants will learn how to record milk checks, capital retains and revolvements. Accounting for resale livestock, recording patronage dividends, tracking quantities of things sold (bushels, pounds, etc.), and tracking quantities of things you buy (gallons, tons, etc.) will also be covered.
This class will show participants the best way to enter farm and personal cash spending and income. QuickBooks for the Ag World will also cover farm asset and liability basics, accounting of resale livestock, tracking depreciable asset purchases and sales, and much more.
