The upcoming Career Job Fair at Rend Lake College is a great way to find employment in the area. More than 40 area employers will be on hand, looking for the employees they need now.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 7, at James "Hummer" Waugh Gymnasium on the RLC campus in Ina. It is co-sponsored by the RLC Center for Business Services, the Illinois Small Business Development Center Network and a Federal Perkins Technical Preparation grant.
"With the economic downturn and high unemployment rate today, people may not realize that jobs are available. We are bringing in several area employers who have open positions ready to fill right now," said Paula Myers, RLC's Director of the Center for Business Services.
According to Myers, employers at the event will vary by industry and there will be a strong showing by healthcare, coal and sales. Bringing this many employers to one location is optimal for job seekers looking to get their application into the hands of as many potential employers as possible.
Representatives of numerous area employers will be on hand to discuss career opportunities and accept résumés. Those planning to attend should bring their résumés, come dressed to interview and be ready to complete employment applications. The RLC Career Job Fair is open to anyone seeking any type of employment opportunity in any field.
