INA, Ill. - Big Truck Day is this Saturday at Rend Lake College.
Parents can bring their children to the Rend Lake College Foundation Children's Center at 10 a.m., Oct. 16, for some free entertainment featuring a pretty big lineup. There will be a fire truck, semi and trailer, tractors, golf carts, a dump truck, a mini bus, a police cruiser, a bucket truck, a railroad truck and more! If it has four wheels or more, chances are it will be there for kids to explore. Except for the Arch Helicopter, which will also be on hand. A Book Walk is also scheduled where kids can pick up some free books.
Big Truck Day will also have some parent-friendly features, like door prizes, a silent auction with tables of possible winnings, and an open house where moms and dads can pre-enroll their children for the center's upcoming Spring 2011 semester. The RLCF Children's Center is the only childcare facility in Jefferson, Franklin and Perry counties that is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. It has been a NAEYC-accredited center since 2000. It is also one of only two centers in Jefferson and Franklin counties to receive three stars through the Illinois Department of Human Services' Quality Counts program. The center serves infants, toddlers and Pre-K with four spacious classrooms. The Pre-K classroom is free from 8-11:30 a.m., Monday - Friday.
Check it out for yourself. Roll on in to Big Truck Day, 10 to noon, this Saturday at the RLCF Children's Center.
