INA, Ill. - Rend Lake College is offering a two-day workshop on GIS Mapping. Instructors Mark Belcher and Steve Lueker will teach this beginner's level course. Participants will learn what GIS is, what it can do and how others are using it.
Using software, participants will create a basic GIS map and work with different types of geographic data. Fundamental concepts, basic functions of global information systems, properties of GIS maps and structure of a GIS database will also be covered. Participants can also receive continuing education credit with this 1 credit hour/15 CPDUs course.
GIS Mapping will be held on Thursday and Friday, October 21 and 22 from 8am to 4pm on the RLC main campus in Ina. The registration fee is $85.
