Ina, Ill.- Rend Lake College has announced the date for its Institute of Lifelong Learning Spring 2011 Welcome Reception.
The Welcome Reception will be held from 1-3 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Historic Schoolhouse on the RLC main campus in Ina. This free reception is offered to share information about classes and trips that are being offered through the Institute of Lifelong Learning.
The Institute is an organization of retirement-age people who share a common interest in lifelong learning and cultural enrichment. The only requirement to participate is a desire to learn more about subjects, including the humanities, performing arts, religion, history, current events, sciences, and personal growth.
The reception will feature information on upcoming day trips which include a Civil War Historical Tour of St. Louis and an orchard and vineyard tour through Southern Illinois.
Guests at the reception will also learn more about upcoming classes on writing your life story, AARP driver safety, Southern Illinois history, High Plains American Indians, funny and famous Burma shave ads and interesting epitaphs, the 1893 World's Fair, and self-publishing. Guests will also learn about classes that show you how easy it is to work with a computer and other arts and crafts courses.
