Semifinal No. 1 – Rend Lake 76, Lincoln 65
A 15-0 run to end the first half swung the momentum the Warriors’ way in their victory.
Rend Lake held the Lynx scoreless for the final 6:53 of the first half. Lincoln cut the lead to 48-43 when Jovaughn Gaines scored with 13:36 left in the game. The Warriors used a 10-0 run to eventually take a 68-49 lead – their largest of the game – when Trice Whaley made two free throws with 6:43 left in the game.
Corey Ayala, Noel Allen and Cortez Macklin led Rend Lake with 13 points a piece, while Bronson Verhines added 11. Gaines led Lincoln with 14 points, Andrew Jordan scored 11 and Aaron Simpson and Marzhon Bryant added 10 apiece.
