Blackboard (Bb) vs. Online Student Record System (OSRS)Online Student Record System (OSRS) Students at RLC have two online accounts, one for OSRS and one for Bb. OSRS is used for retrieving information about your RLC account, such as grades, schedules, or an unofficial transcript. Your OSRS account is not setup for you, you must set it up (to do this, go to www.rlc.edu/login). Once your account is created, it cannot be duplicated, meaning you can only create one OSRS account. If you forget your OSRS password, you can use the link on the login page to retrieve it via email. If your email address is different than the one associated with your OSRS account, or if you do not know the answer to your secret question, the automatic password retrieval will not work. In this case, you must either come in to the Education Technology Specialist's office on the Ina campus, or mail in a request to have your password changed. Due to FERPA law, photo-ID (student ID or driver's lisence) will be required to have your password changed). The OSRS login is located at www.rlc.edu/login or from the "Online Access" menu on most RLC.edu pages. Blackboard (Bb) Blackboard is RLC's online course management software suite. All RLC online courses, and several face-to-face courses will use Blackboard to easily pass information from instructor to student. Your Bb account will be created by RLC staff. Each student should have a maximum of one Bb account (issues with this should be brought to the Education Technology Specialist). Your Bb account will remain the same regardless of how many semesters or how many online courses you enroll in at RLC. If you forget your Bb password, use the "Forgot your password?" link on the Bb login page. To access Blackboard, visit bb.rlc.edu or click "Online Courses" in the "Online Access" menu on most RLC.edu pages. |
