Practical Nursing Program
This program is designed to prepare the individual for practice of practical nursing as defined in the Illinois Nurse Practice act. The successful graduate will possess fundamental nursing knowledge and skills necessary to function as a member of the health care team as a Practical Nurse.
The three-semester program is approved by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. Each student will complete courses which will include classroom lecture, laboratory practice and/or clinical experiences. To remain in the Practical Nursing Program, the student must achieve a grade of “C” or better in each nursing course and demonstrate competency in math.
Upon graduation from the program, the student may be eligible to apply to take the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses).
